Vegan Cuts Beauty Box – January 2017

capture_2017-01-30-23-22-24.png.pngOut of curiosity, since La Ritzy changed up their subscription box, I thought that I would try out the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box since I have been eyeing them for a while. They looked like they were ordinary everyday things I would use and can re-purchase and not lose an arm and a leg over. I just got my first box at the end of January and I was so excited about everything I got. There’s only one thing I haven’t tried out yet. But so far I am really happy with the box and I am already anticipating the next one.  So here is what’s in the January box:

Stinkbug Naturals’ Tangerine Spice Deodorant Cream – this product smells sooo good! I love that it’s not overpowering but it also doesn’t not smell like anything.  I can’t say how well it protects you from wetness, but from stink, this totally works! I also really liked that it didn’t feel gritty when you applied the product.capture_2017-01-30-23-23-41.png.png

Jersy Shore’s Cosmetics’ Lip & Cheek Rouge in Baccara Rose – this colour is so pretty, though I don’t normally wear anything this dark. I probably won’t wear this often, but I definitely interested in some of their other colours available. I still have a hard time using a cream for a blush cause I feel like I always end up looking like a clown, even if I blend it really well with my Beauty Blender. So I haven’t tried to use this as a blush yet. I have a list of things I want to try out when I actually have a day to play around with all my makeup.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Leave in Conditioning Spray  – I love hair conditioning sprays. This one I really love because it doesn’t have an overwhelming smell like a few other conditioners that I have gotten in the past. I need scent-free products since I work in health care and some scented products gives me really bad migraines so, this conditioner is amazing 🙂 plus it leaves my hair super soft, so doubly amazing!capture_2017-01-30-23-29-17.png.png

Goddess Garden’s Bright Eyes Firming Cream – I just discovered Goddess Garden over the summer when I was looking for a new sunscreen and the bff recommended this brand to me. So I was really excited to see this in my box plus the fact that it’s an eye firming cream, is always welcomed.
capture_2017-01-30-23-30-15.png.png

Enfusia – Muscle Bomb – I don’t do baths…so I am planning on giving this away to one of my coworkers. But when I opened it, it smelled all pepperminty and good, so it’s a bummer that I’m giving it away. I would like someone to do a shower bomb. I think Lush did something like that awhile ago, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere!

Clarisea – Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Mask – This I have yet to try, though it is my favourite product out of everything because I LOOOVE masks so much and seeing one in my box is always a happy dance thing. I can’t see how a mask can be bad though, I’ve never had a bad experience with masks so getting masks will always be a good thing to me!capture_2017-01-30-23-24-48.png.png

So that’s it for this box. If you’ve gotten the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box, let me know how you’re liking the products in the comments!

Petit Vour – November 2016

Hello! Today I have for you a little review of the November Petit Vour box. I get so excited to see what’s in each box and what new products I get to try out. So let’s take a peek inside! capture_2016-11-26-15-27-39.png.png

First item is this universal creme for cheeks and lips by Elate Cosmetics in Love. It is such a beautiful pink colour, but I prefer it as a blush as opposed to a lipstick. Something about the colouring didn’t look right on my lips. This product did glide on so smoothly though. I love it!!

Next is this Ellovi scrub in Blossom, it says you can use it as a bath soak or a scrub. It smells so freaking good and citrus-y and I absolutely adore all things citrus! Plus I love that the salt scrub is so gentle and leaves my hands so smooth. Especially now in winter season here and my hands are all rough and dry. I don’t really get how you would use this as a bath soak though. It seems like you would have to empty the entire jar into the bath to make it work for you? I tried to Google this but I think this is a new product and I don’t see any information on this!
capture_2016-11-26-15-34-26.png.png

The next item is this Tea Tree Eyelid and Eyelash Makeup Remover Oil by We Love Eyes. I haven’t used this yet since I normally just wash off everything in the shower, or I use the Makeup Eraser cloth. It just seems like a lot of work. I will get to it eventually I suppose. capture_2016-11-26-15-38-31.png.png

The final product is this Realist Invisible Setting Powder by W3ll People. So the product description says you can either use this to minimize pores and control shine or to set your foundation, which I love! I also enjoy that in the “tips” tab, it says you can also use it as an eyelid primer or to dab a small amount at the base of your lower lid lashes to prevent mascara from smudging. I just hate that it’s a loose powder and in such a tiny jar. I feel like the product is just going to end up everywhere. I am super shiny and have a powder that I love right now that helps to control shine. I’m just waiting on a day when I don’t have to go out to test this product to see if it actually works! capture_2016-11-26-15-36-21.png.png

I like this box, I’m excited to try the eyelid/eye lash oil to see if it will make taking off my waterproof mascara off more easily and I’m always excited about new mattifying products. So that’s it for this month. can’t wait for the December box 🙂

La Ritzy – November 2016

capture_2016-11-26-15-19-23.png.png So this month’s LaRitzy bag came with just one product, which was highly disappointing to me. I think that I am going to end up cancelling this subscription for next month.

But this month’s bag came with a full sized bronzer. I love the packaging and the case it comes in. Unfortunately the colour is a little too dark on me. I have been mixing it with another bronzer that I have that is too light and you can’t really see it. Together, they are kind of perfect. But too much work especially on days where I have to get to work by 7am, which means I am up at 5am. I’ll have to see if they have another shade that isn’t quite so dark for me.

So that’s it for this month’s LaRitzy!

La Ritzy – October 2016

capture_2016-10-27-16-57-34.png.pngHello guys! I have another La Ritzy bag to show off to you guys today! I don’t really understand what is going on with their subscription service, which is probably my fault for skimming through their emails instead of actually reading it through. After a survey with their costumers, they decided that going forward, everyone only gets one product at a lowered price and anyone who was on a subscription ended up getting a gift card for use in their store. I was fully prepared to be disappointed and only recieving one item but then I opened the package and there were three lovely things in here waiting for me! I really liked this month’s picks, they’re all everything that I would use on a daily basis.

capture_2016-10-27-16-55-59.png.pngOn top of that, they might have changed up their product packaging and it is much more fun and colourful as opposed to the all black packaging from the last bag – not that there is anything wrong with the all black packaging, but I just really enjoyed their use of colours in this month’s packaging. They’re just these beautiful, soft, pastel-y colours and I don’t know. Maybe I’m obsessed with the soft pastel like colours. And maybe I am the only one who is excited about packaging that’s going to end up in recycling anyway, but regardless, I loved it. Anyway, I digress. Here’s a look into this month’s October bag!

My favourite in this bag is the gorgeous blush in Surrender, I love that it is so soft looking on me cheeks. I always feel like a clown when I’m wearing blush even though I don’t have a lot of it on and maybe because I’ve never found the right colour for me, but this one just looks so gorgeous! I tried to do a swab for you guys, but the colour was too light and I couldn’t get it to show through in the camera lens!capture_2016-10-27-17-07-45.png.png

The next item is the Long Lash mascara, which I love because my eye lashes are super short and anything that helps make them not stubbly is a plus. I had to use a few coats to help it out, but it was fine. The only thing that bothered me was that it is not waterproof and I wore this yesterday when it was super rainy and gross and i had mascara smudged on my face 😦 But that would have happened with any non-waterproof mascara that I  own!capture_2016-10-27-17-09-09.png.png

The final product is this fun Metallic Mauve Lip Gloss. So I did not love this colour on its own, BUT when I used it on top of the Red Apple Lipstick from the Petit Vour box, I really enjoyed liked how it looked. So I might start wearing it on top of some of my other colours too see what happens.
capture_2016-10-27-17-12-05.png.png

So that’s it for this box! We will see what happens next moth if I end up getting a full three product bag or just a one product bag! If you liked any of these items, you can always get them online in the LaRitzy store!

Petit Vour – October 2016

My October box is here and I am pretty excited about this box, partly because it got here before the end of the month, which often happens since I’m from Canada!! But also because there are so many fun goodies in this month’s box, which seems to focus a lot around rejuvenation. So let’s take a peek inside!

First up, we have The Red Apple Lipstick in Rebel!. This is a brilliant red shade and I normally do not wear red this bright. But this colour is just so gorgeous and moisturizing, I just need an occasion to wear it!

capture_2016-10-27-17-22-02.png.pngNext item is the Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil by Pai. According to the website, it’s supposed to help restore the balance and confidence to unpredictable skin and the omegas in the product helps to regenerate skin without irritating it. I already love this product and I haven’t even tried it out yet. Is that even possible?

capture_2016-10-27-17-30-30.png.pngAnother rejuvenating oil, this Tulsi Rejuvenating Oil with Lavender and Evening Primrose is by Apoterra Skincare. This essentially helps to replenish and rejuvenate your skin. I tried this out after my shower last night and I don’t know how well it’s working, but it sure smells good. If this works, then this product is perfect for winter time since my arms and legs always end up getting very dry and my skin cracking on me. Though I’m sure that the fact that I always forget to lotion is a contributing factor :/

capture_2016-10-27-17-32-25.png.pngThe final product in the box is the Moroccan Beldi Soap by Kahina Giving Beauty. This is the one that I am most excited to try out, but my weekend is going to be hectic and crazy so it may have to wait until next week when I have time to linger in the shower! I just don’t really understand how such a small pouch is supposed to be enough for use on your entire body should you choose to use it as a cleanser and softening product vs as just a soap. But I guess I will discover that when I try it!

NOTW

I found some Pacifica nail polish on sale at my local health store place the other day and the colours are so pretty and I couldn’t resist buying them and then using them for this week’s nails. The pictures don’t do the colour justice though. They look more “fall” pink in real life than the salmony pink you see in the picture.
I always enjoy a good glittery gradient sponging and this was a fun colour combo for me to play with!

Petit Vour – September 2016

capture_2016-10-03-10-23-03.png.pngOver the weekend, I got my September Petit Vour box shipped to me. I am super excited about this box, lots of useful little products in this one! So here a peek into what’s in this month’s Petit Vour box:

capture_2016-10-03-10-26-42.png.pngFirst item: Meow Meow Tweet’s Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream in Grapefruit. I’m actually already using this now and aside from the fact that it does nothing for wetness, it does work well on smell. I’m almost out of my current jar so I am stoked to have a second jar on hand. The card said that this was a new formula to combat smell and wetness, so here’s hoping!!
On a side note, does anyone know if there is a cruelty-free, non-toxic deodorant that does actually stop wetness? Because I feel like I have tried almost every brand out there and none of them actually does anything for wetness. I’ve heard that you can’t combat this issue because it’s not an antiperspirant, but I still keep hoping and looking.

capture_2016-10-03-10-27-12.png.pngThe next item is Osea’s Ocean Cleanser  I haven’t had a chance to check this one out yet, but their site says: “this multi-tasking hydrating formula effectively removes dirt and impurities, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and energized.” I have a lot of cleansers to try out, so I will get to this eventually! But I have heard great things about this company, so I may break into this one early 🙂

capture_2016-10-03-10-28-04.png.pngAnother item I loved from this box is Odacite’s Black Cumin + Cajeput Serum Concentrate. This thing works and I am already planning on getting the full sized thing. I’ve been having weird breakouts lately and this reduced the size in my pimples in just one use. I am so impressed with this product! I want to try out the other oils they have too.

capture_2016-10-03-10-37-48.png.pngThe final product is Adorn’s Mineral and Organic Hydrating Cream Foundation. This colour matches perfectly to my skin (you can barely see the difference in the swatch picture) and it feels like velvet on my skin and doesn’t leave my skin oily or sticky feeling. It is honestly one of the best foundations I have ever used! I wish that there was an spf added to it cause I like my all-in-ones for laziness. For this though, I may consider getting a full bottle when I’m done my current bb cream.
They do have an spf one in loose powder, but I hate loose powder – I always feel like I get it all over the place. I think I will try the sample one to see if I like it enough.

So that’s it for this month’s box. Like I said before, I am so excited about this box and it’s probably one of my fave boxes to date.  If you guys have tried any of these, let me know in the comments how you like them!

La Ritzy – August 2016

capture_2016-09-28-07-11-30-1.png.pngHey guys! So I have a brand new LaRitzy bag of goodies to share with you today. LaRitzy used to be a makeup subscription box that had 4-5 different cruelty free and non-toxic beauty brands. Last month they changed this and are only giving away three of their brand new LaRitzy brand of makeup products. However, they’re still cruelty free and non-toxic. This has been a little disappointing, I have to admit. Instead of the four – five items, you are now getting less at the same price. Plus, as I may have mentioned before, the whole point of me getting the subscription boxes was to be exposed to different products without me having to do the work (because it can be exhausting!). I’ll stick with them for a little while longer just to see what types of products they have and how well they work.

So let’s peek into this month’s selection of products.

The first product is the Camouflage Cover Cream in Orange. I had no idea what it was used for and used it to cover my breakouts and that was definitely not what it’s for. Eventually found out it was to correct dark circles under the eye and to reduce the look of bags. I haven’t had time to properly try it yet, but I am looking forward to it.capture_2016-09-28-07-19-41.png.png

The next product is the Liquid Eyeliner, which I’m always excited about. I have yet to find a good enough replacement for my Stila one. I have weird oily eyelids (even though a beauty expert told me that it is impossible for your eyelids to become. But by mid day, my eye makeup has smeared and creased so badly and I can see an oily residue line!!), so I’m always on the lookout for something that works. Kat von D’s Tattoo Liner works pretty well, but it still smudges on me. Anyway, I haven’t tried this yet, I’m waiting for a day when I’m home alone all day before putting it to the test!

The final product to share with you is the eyeshadow in Oyster Pearl – which made me think that it was going to be a translucent shimmery white, but turned out to be a bronzy colour instead. It’s a pretty colour and looks great on my skin tone. I’m excited to try out a few of the other colours and hopefully they’ll have more colors out soon.
So that’s it for this month’s LaRitzy box. Let me know how you’re enjoying these if you subscribe to LaRitzy in the comments!

NOT(mid)W

img_20160919_131831.jpg

It’s been a very long time since I last did a NOTW post. I have either been too lazy to do anything pretty or I didn’t like them enough to share them. These ones I really liked, so here they are.

I really enjoyed doing these ones, I usually hate doing polka dots. I mean, I love them, but I just never seem to be able to do them right – I always feel like I’ve placed the dots “wrong” and it looks over crowded or un-balanced. But I think these turned out really well 🙂

La Ritzy – July 2016

capture_2016-07-15-16-46-58.png.pngSo unfortunately La Ritzy has decided that moving forward, they would be selling their own products. This is the last box of fun different products, which sucks because the point of me getting these boxes was to expose myself to new and different types of organic, natural, and cruelty free beauty stuff. But I am interested to see what type of products La Ritzy will be coming out with so I’ll probably keep my subscription a little longer!

This month’s box had a lot of fun goodies, so here’s a peek at the July box!

First up (and my favourite product in this box) is the Light Blue Ceramic nail polish from Pretty Woman NYC. I really loved this colour and although you can’t see it in the picture, it’s a beautiful matte colour. I used it on my mani last week and loved it. It took a few coats to make it solid but otherwise it was perfection!

The next product is Jersey Shore Spa’s Anti Aging Lip and Hand Polish. This smelled so DELICIOUS I almost wanted to eat it!! And it made my hands so super soft!! I don’t know why I have never used a hand scrub before -I couldn’t stop touching my hands after using this!! I haven’t tried using this on my lips though because I already have a lot of lip polishes…and also the temptation to eat it would be too strong :/capture_2016-07-15-16-52-36.png.png

Then there is the Menthe Pure Mineral Corrector by Orglamix. I really like that it smooths out my face and helps to reduce the redness. My face has decide to break out on me all of a sudden so this product arrived right on time!capture_2016-07-15-16-54-25.png.png

The final product is the Monoi Healing Oil Serum by Mahogany Naturals England. So this is supposed to help boost shine and reduce frizz and strengthen your hair. I don’t know if I just had a badly produced bottle because half the oil leaked out in transportation. I also found that the smell is a little overly strong for me and I immediately developed a headache after using it (I am very sensitive to smells) and I felt like it weighed down my hair and made it feel oily even though I only used a very small amount. This was not my most favourite product in the box and I’m probably going to give it away to one of my friends.capture_2016-07-15-16-49-45.png.png

So that’s it for this box and I can’t wait to see what the next box will bring me!
